I'm looking for a Perl programmer to create a script that can scrape a website for headline news. The script will mainly be extracting text, so any other images and videos associated with the news stories won't be taken into consideration. I will also require the script to be running on a regular basis, so it can stay updated with the new stories that are published. Output formatting is not required in this situation, so the script should be up and running without any additional steps. Please see the attached files for more information. Thank you
I need to capture the links posted on a news website. Where we capture the headline, the associated URL, the short description, the date (yyyy-mm-dd) and time (HHMM), and finally the number of views and comments. The data is saved to a csv file. A website is publishing the business hours but they don't do it the same way for every store. They are VERY inconsistent... Some stores will have their hours listed day-by-day (Mon, Tue, Wed, ... Sun) while other will be listed by group of days (Mon, Tue - Thu, Fri, Sat - Sun) or any crazy combination of these. Can even be listed as Mon - Tue, Wed ...need to dig the JSON and get the store hours for today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday). If today is Sunday, I need the hours for today (Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday). Hi, I have a small project of about 800 lines of Perl code that I want to port to Python. This includes lots of spacing and almost identical functions and repetition so it's quite small. It creates a point-cloud of some 3D coordinates and rotates it, saving each frame as a separate JPG which I render as an animation outside of Perl. I would like this ported intelligently to Python. Once upon a time I wrote an imperfect cgi perl script that worked for twenty years. It is a registration and payment system, consulting a perl formatted database (I daily update) posing HTML questions to format, send and pay a mail order. I understand it has to be reviewed for two reasons : - I used "require" with local name to the /cgi-bin directory. It could be a security failure that one could use to intrude.
