Help find emails I lost when converting from POP to IMAP

I added an IMAP account to Mac Mail (version 8.0, OSX Yosemite 10.10) and that is working well. Via Mac Mail preferences I 'disabled' the old POP account for the same email address, then immediately realised that the IMAP account had only downloaded the last 30 days or so of emails. When I 'enabled' the POP account again, the emails had disappeared. If there is anyway to possibly re-download the old emails? Even if it's just the emails of the last month or two .

HI, I will try and get some emails back for you. The work can be done remotely via Teamviewer. I am not am Apple specialist, I work with windows but I will try to help. Were you using Time Machine? or do you have any other form of backups? Also to just confirm you just disabled the pop account and didn't delete it? I would say an hours work @$15 would about cover it even if I do more than an hour for you as some reviews on my account would be good. I can start ASAP if needed. Message me for any questions.
