Hi there. As a ML specialist, I am familiar with image processiong. The purpose to convert general photo to the thermal image is to get the temperature without using IR camera. In fact, IR sensors can collect emitted energy from the object as well as reflected energy so multispectral IR image is much easier to measure the temperature and ideal method. But if you cannot use the IR camera, of course, we can convert the general image to the thermal one. I've experienced to convert the RGB images to grayscal one(intensity), and then map gray level to the temperature. :) I'd like to work on this project.
