I currently use a customised version of the U-design Wordpress theme (by Andon Design, available from [login to view URL]). The job is to apply an update to the theme without losing the customisations... and, if possible, show me how to do it myself next time (ie: identify the customisations for me).

Hello, The best way to do this is with child themes. This way any updates you make on your theme it will not be over-written. This is the best way to make use of the child-themes. I am willing to also show you how this is done.
