PDF Reader

Perlego are seeking proposals to complete the work detailed in the specification. Proposals should include: • A high level design and a list of required libraries required in order to build the reader. • A break down of the cost including any outsourced cost • A high level project plan detailing planned activity and time horizons are required to be included in the proposal. To include delivery methodology e.g. agile iterations and scope. • A description of the resources utilised for the project and their skillsets e.g. 3 javascript developers and their associated CV’s. The PDF reader will be hosted on the Perlego Platform. The platform currently has a single dedicated server for production running Apache web server. The platform is predominantly written in PHP and MYSQL and with heavy use of Javascript. The existing eReader reader runs on a Node.js server running with PHP and using memcache for interaction. In the future a load balancing solution will likely arise. The Product would sit on the apache web server and be called by a PHP script which would extract the book from a location outside of public_html, intitiate the authentication and direct the user to the reader upon completion of the extraction. The user would then interact with the PDF reader using the encrypted request and responses.
