Creating an addon for Anki
1. Install Anki:
Make sure you have Anki installed on your computer. You can download it from the official Anki website: [login to view URL]
2. Understand Anki Addon Basics:
Familiarize yourself with the basics of Anki addon development by reading through the Anki addon documentation. This will give you an understanding of the structure and requirements for creating addons.
3. Set Up Development Environment:
Ensure you have a suitable development environment for Python. You can use a text editor like VSCode or an integrated development environment (IDE) like PyCharm.
4. Create a New Folder for Your Addon:
In the Anki addons folder, create a new directory for your addon. The addons folder is usually located in the Anki user directory. You can find this directory by navigating to Anki > Help > About.
5. Create Your Addon Files:
Inside your addon folder, create the necessary files. At a minimum, you'll need a Python script for your addon and an `[login to view URL]` file.
```python
# [login to view URL]
from aqt import mw
def my_addon_function():
print("Hello, Anki!")
```
```python
# [login to view URL]
from .ExampleAddon import my_addon_function
[login to view URL](my_addon_function, "Example Addon", 1)
```
