Customizations for Wordpress Theme

The portfolio (films) overview page currently has a category selection which shows every link next to each other. This category selection should be modified so it becomes a drop down menu instead. Currently when you click on a category the portfolio items dynamically re-arrange on the page. Instead, when a category is selected from the drop down, a category overview page should load which looks like the portfolio overview page but only displays portfolio items from this category. The portfolio items are currently divided in certain categories. I need a second set of "categories" which would be years such as 2009, 2010, 2011, etc. These years have to be displayed as another drop down next to the category drop down. When a year is selected a portfolio overview page based loads displaying portfolio items from this year. I am fine if the same portfolio category function is used but years have to be displayed separately in the drop down. I need one page template for "Awards". This page will display text in three columns. The backend for this page template has to have 3 text areas like the regular main content text area in Wordpress including the wysiwyg editor. PSD examples for everything will be provided.
