Instead of saving in an xml file you can save the details in a redis instance. which will make the retrieval much faster. Also this redis instance can be used as a cache to store details of photos, not photos themselves. I can complete this work using java and either spring or play framework. I would recommend play. If you use play, you could just use heroku to publish, without a lot of cost for a simple project. Hi, I did similar projects in the past and I have knowledge in Python and PHP. I plan to do it in PHP. In my opinion this is the best choice for such webapps. PHP has great advantage over Python when it comes to webapps. There is usually no need for installing external libs for working with the web, i.e. working with rest api, handling http requests/responses, support for sessions, etc.. Python just for the start needs an external lib of some web framework to handle lots of tasks already builtin PHP. Thanks, Roi

since being a 3 page application we could opt for node express application. it has got cool integration with mustache (logic less template s) for HTML rendering. only thing we would need to run application would be node. it would be html5 application with responsive layout. the screen changes are to be using ajax. making the screen rendering totally awesome
