Comprehensive Classifieds Website

Competitive bids are being sought for a top-of-the-line quality classifieds website relating to one of the industries in the classifieds sector. Most of the specifications of the site are similar to what can be found across existing classifieds and listings sites, though the requirements will be comprehensive. The site would be broad in scope, containing 3 main ad sections with each section broken down further into about 4 categories and 14 total subcategories. The 3 sections would be: 1) An “Available?? ads section containing listings posted by the supply side 2) A “Wanted?? ads section containing listings posted by the demand side 3) Professional service section containing listings posted by members who would advertise their professional services to visitors of the site The site would have a community membership model, featuring (among other things): -Member profiles -Member accounts -Member feedback & ratings -Ad flagging, reporting and messaging -Message forums The design of the site must meet the highest standards in terms of usability, functionality and aesthetics, incorporating (among other things): -A visually pleasing interface that is also very intuitive and user-friendly -Comprehensive search tools that can perform differing levels of searches within each listing category and subcategory by different criteria -Comprehensive sort tools that can sort search results on different levels and by different criteria depending on the search parameters used -Comprehensive member account tools such as, saved search criteria preferences, saved favorites, listing inventory management -Comprehensive site administrator tools and features Other requirements of the site: -The ability to link and cross-reference different location-related information, in particular: Countries Metro areas Cities Neighborhoods Postal codes Colleges/Universities Street Addresses Online maps -Support for user-created webpage coding within the classified listing (similar to ebay listings) ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform in all relevant versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape and Mozilla
