The primary focus of this role will be on legal research and analysis related to criminal procedure, particularly concerning speeding, reckless driving, and sentencing within the Canadian legal system. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, analyzing sentencing guidelines, and preparing comprehensive reports. Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field. Additional certification or training in legal research is preferred. 2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with mid-level experience in legal research or related field. 3. Detailed understanding of Canadian criminal procedure, with a focus on traffic violations including speeding and reckless driving. 4. Familiarity with laws and regulations governing traffic violations and their enforcement. 5. Ability to analyze sentencing guidelines and outcomes for charges related to speeding and reckless driving. 6. Strong research and report-writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail. 7. In-depth familiarity with legal research tools and platforms such as CanLII, LexisNexis, and federal/provincial databases. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely. 9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. 10. Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively. 11.
