Hi, this is such a great bid! Whoever you choose, I am sure that once you start on this journey, you will never stop, and I wish you all the luck.
I moved to Italy for family reasons in 2005 with a 2-month basic language course, and since then I have never stopped learning. My Italian today is fluent, with a hardly perceptible accent, correct grammar and rich vocabulary, as well as the ability to differentiate between numerous Italian dialects and cultural layers. Living in a 100% Italian environment and going through all levels of Italian education with my children have been a huge boost, to the point that I have started to think in Italian.
Over the years, I have worked as a translator, interpreter, proofreader and, currently, a teacher of Italian at the local elementary and middle school. I teach foreign kids who have absolutely no idea of how to approach the language and, of course, my focus is mainly conversational. Two of my ex non-Italian students are currently doing quite well at a rather demanding high school. My own educational background (English and pedagogy university major) has definitely helped to give structure and method to both learning and teaching Italian.
If you are interested in my offer, please, feel absolutely free to write. Before you make any decision, we can discuss the action plan and you can get a better idea whether you are comfortable with me and if my lessons are what you are looking for. In any case, in bocca al lupo!
