Facebook is in a perpetual beta state. The rules of the game (especially if you are an advertiser) keep changing within days at times. Just a few weeks ago Facebook brought about a change in its targeted boosting dynamics that ended up promoting posts to people just because someone in their friend list had 'liked' a similar page at some point. This was a shift from the usual demographic based boosting. As a marketer one needs to be vigilant of all such changes. Another such change (more relevant to your case) is the Facebook Business Manager. Recently introduced by Facebook, it allows simultaneous management of both Instagram and Facebook pages. It even provides enhanced analytics on excel spreadsheets. Following are some pros and cons that I came across when analyzing the metromum Facebook page: Pros: Organic reach and customer engagement (in the form of detailed comments on posts), consistent brand message. Cons: 1) Lack of Brand alignment: no color scheme, absence of company logos on product pictures. 2) No unique posts (abundance of shared posts - needs urgent improvement) 3) No active customer engagement posts like info graphics, surveys etc Both the brand and its social media presence could use a serious overhaul. My experience in social media marketing tells me that you should operate your Instagram pages independently. Often at times people simply sync the content they post on Facebook with other platforms. They forget that these are inherently different.
