Hi, I'm Matt and I'm the founder of an art tech startup, essentially Spotify for art, that allows people display artwork on screens in their home. This project is to convert an existing web app (Javascript/CSS/HTML frontend, Ruby on Rails backend) into a hybrid web app, using Apache Cordova, and add in native Google Cast capability for both iOS and android ([login to view URL]). If the native Cast capabilities don't integrate with Cordova, then conversion into an alternative hybrid app format would be the next option (most likely using Vue/Nativescript/Vue Native or React/React Native). The app is a Spotify style media player, using images and videos instead of audio. The Google Cast functionality needs to work for the main selected media, which is controlled using simple javascript. The rest of the app should not affect the cast functionality. The app is currently for mobile web only (i.e. media query limited to mobile size devices). It is being converted to a hybrid app specifically to allow Google Cast functionality on both iOS and Android, as it is currently limited to Chrome (and not Chrome iOS) for web apps, so does not work consistently on mobile. This would suit an intermediate (or above) level freelance developer, with experience in hybrid web app development. It is a one-off project, with a view to a series of future individual jobs that are likely to include adding in other cast style services (Fire TV etc), plus UI improvements, in parallel with the MVP beta launch and user feedback. The budget is flexible for this project, so please submit an amount based on your expected time to complete the work. I have assumed that the whole project will take approximately one day, but if conversion to another framework is required then the timescale can be altered and the budget adjusted accordingly.
