Hello! While I am not a professional author, I think what you are trying to do is wonderful and would love to be involved in it. Unfortunately I am not in your area, I am actually an American. However, if you are willing to record some information about your parents and upload it for me, we can work with that. I think creating their story would be amazing, and I see it as being a timeline of their life. I am willing to give you the same rate I give to most of my clients; $5/500words. It could possibly take a while to compile the book, so I would like to know the deadline (if you intend to give it to them on the day of their anniversary, I'd like to know when that is to be sure I can create something in that time frame) and how long you are thinking you want it to be (a general idea is fine). I'm a creative writer and interaction design student, which means sometimes I write original pieces of work, and sometimes I interview people to find out how they use technology, then design a new app or interface specifically for them. At college I was awarded the English Literature prize, and have been awarded A grades on all my written work for university. I also wrote a number of short stories which detailed the backgrounds of several characters for a community-designed fantasy game. I'm English by birth and live in the UK, so I would be happy to come to Reading and meet you and your family for this project. If you would like to see samples of my work, please contact me - or if you would like to challenge me to see what I could do with this project, send me some information about a significant event, like how your parents met, or details of a place they like to go and how they feel about it, and I will write a short piece as an example of what I would produce for this. Have you thought about making this an interactive book so that it might have family videos associated with it or perhaps audio recordings? It would take a little longer for me to do it, but with the training I have I could do more than just a book for print, though I'm certainly happy to provide textual content only.
