We are looking for someone to help us create an automation process for our report writing. We have a report template which has variables in it of which we change each time we write the report as the answers are different for each individual report. We need a way to be able to use some sort of drop down menu options in order to populate the report with the correct paragraphs without having to manually amend the reports to add and take different paragraphs away everytime. You must have experience with this kind of work and be able to complete the job fully. The reports also contain pictures which also change so would need a way to basically have one screen where all the details would be entered as simply as possible and then click to generate a report based on the data input, maybe excel into word would be be the best way? The end format needs to be a Microsoft Word report. We look forward to working with an experienced freelancer with the right skills, please detail briefly how you plan to do this automation within your proposal. Hi, the project seems to an easy one. 1st, We will need a specific template with all variables specified. 2nd, We need some sort of tab to store all possible values for our variables based on a drop down menu. 3rd, for the picture. It would be easy, I've done this kind of set up where in I need to paste a different picture based o cell value. We all need to store all the picture on a specific tab, Lastly, we can just use a vba code to save the file to either word or pdf depending of on the output or your preference. Hello, if I understand correctly, you need some fields in which you choose the report paramenters. That should be done via data validation lists. If these lists stay constant, then it's easy, if the lists have to grow there's one more level of complexity, since the validation list has to grow (dynamic data validation). After the report parameters have been entered, the report needs to be generated. Depending on the level of complexity, the data might be fetched via formulas (such as index and match) + camera objects for the pictures (most probably macro/vba needed). After the report has been generated, it can be exported to word via macro. Therefore I would incorporate a button with macro. The bid is menat for the solution described, but no more then 8 hours of work. If the complexity of the data is higher and programing is needed for fetching the data for the report, more work migt be needed. If the data is straight foreward, then the work can be done in 6 hours. Should it be more then 8 hours we can add a project milestone. Kind regards, Bianca
