I am an Industrial Automation Engineer specializing in robot cells and PLC controlled bespoke automation equipment. I undertake full life cycle design and build of automation systems incorporating 6-axis robots / cobots and custom equipment from my UK workshop. In the last 18 months I have worked on the following: - 2x mobile pick and place robot units: delicate molded components utilizing Kawasaki 6-axis robots servo grippers and moving fixtures. - Gantry robot cell for plastic injection molding: Automated cell picking, processing and packing molded parts including a custom 3 axis gantry robot over a large working area. Full design and build. - Picking and processing of press formed metal components: 2x robot cells; UR cobot and a scara robot. Studied current manual process and specified automated solutions. - Picking and processing of pressure bursting disks: 6-axis mounted on an AGV - picking, transporting parts + machine loading. Optimal dynamic route calculation performed by PLC. - Other non-robotic systems including jigs / fixtures, food & beverage processing skids. Previously designed and built pick and place systems using servo actuators instead of robots for more cost sensitive applications. Hands-on experience with robots from ABB, Kawasaki, Staubli, Universal Robots. Previous clients include Comau, Toyota, Caterpillar, Becton Dickinson and Halma.
