Hey there!
So, you want some fancy Excel reports, huh? No worries, I've got your back with my solid five years of experience in this kind of stuff.
First things first, let's grab that CSV file full of booking data and import it into Excel using Power Query. Once it's in, we'll tidy it up and add some extra info like the day of the week for each booking and which Season Level it falls into.
Next up, we'll dive into creating those cool graphs. For each of the four houses and for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025, we'll whip up a graph showing occupancy levels. Picture this: on the X-axis, we'll have the months from January to December, and on the Y-axis, we'll show how full the houses are throughout the year. We'll also throw in a line to track the target occupancy.
Then, onto the average prices sold. We'll make a graph for each house and each year again. This time, the X-axis will still be the months, but the Y-axis will show the average price per bedroom per night. Each line on the graph will represent a Season Level, so we can see how prices vary throughout the year.
Lastly, we'll tackle revenue per house. Similar deal: one graph per house per year. We'll plot total revenue on the Y-axis and months on the X-axis. Expect to see six lines this time—one for each Season Level plus one for total revenue.
Sound good? Let's get cracking! If you've got any questions along the way, just give me a shout.
