I need a spell checker writing which uses javascript to replace and find words, and possibly perl or cgi etc to perform the actual spell check.
The spell checker is for a WYSIWYG editor so needs to work only in IE 5.5 or higher.
It cannot really use ASP or PHP, but I am open to other suggestions as to an alternative solution.
The spell checker will need to read in from an iFrame (the editor) and suggest alternative words - then be able to replace them in the main editor. Basically just a standard spell checker really!!
The way I see it working is a popup dialogue box called from a button in the editor, which then shows the sentance where the word is spelled incorrectly.. it will then suggest other solutions.
I have looked at aspell ([[login to view URL]][1]) and liked the capabilities - but couldnt actually write an interface for it!
I am open to suggestions about this project as to the best path of action.
Please include any past experience with javascript and/or spell checker work etc in your bid.
Many thanks.
