Hi, This can simply be done by using OCR and openCV algorithm to scan the images of the paper, but first i need to see the paper sample and can be developed in less than a month, i have experience in creating this type of image processing and computer vision based applications. Hello, I'd like participate the project. I have enough free time and good relevant experience to do this. Briefly about me: Mid Java dev and Senior QA/QC with more than 11 years in software development. I'm good in databases (was a team member of MS SQL Srvr 2005, now mostly work with Postgres), backend Java development, algorithms (MD in Math and Computer Science) + clients on JavaFX or Swing. About the estimate. I'd like suggest use some existing parsing engine like ABBYY Engine and integrate into our app. I can investigate which one will be the most applicable for the task but need at least look on the usual documents this program will work with. In addition, there are no scanning/parsing tool that will make no mistakes during recognition. So we will need document/data editor included too. Based on this I'd like say that I will need 3-4 weeks to make such a program and the cost will be 750 Eur. Plus there could be some extra fee for using the recognition engines. As I was told i will try to find something opensource and free tool, but it could be that the quality will be not enough and possibly we will should use some enterprise recognition engine instead. Hi Team! I am a fourth year Mechatronic Engineering and Computer Science student at the university of Sydney, Australia. Your project is definitely possible, could be done part time around my uni schedule within at most two weeks, and I am happy to take it on for cheap as I am new to freelancer and looking for some cool projects to get under my belt. If you use standardised forms, I would have the program recognise the form type (easy part) and then segment the fields based on position in the scan. From there, using image recognition initially trained on the likes of MNIST handwriting (even easier if the forms are typed out, but it doesnt sound like it) so recognise what is in each field and associate it with that information in the database. If there are errors, or a % certainty less than a threshold you can define, it will ask you to confirm. The whole thing is easier if the handwriting is neat and easier again is it is usually the same person/people. Look forward to hearing from you!
