Mechanical design for a headset for the mobility impaired

I would like to manufacture a headset for people that are bound in a wheelchair. The headset will include 3 boards, the Left, Right and Radio boards. [login to view URL] The Left board contains multiple sensors and a microphone that will be placed near the mouth. The Left board should be close to the cheek, sensors oriented towards the cheek, and could be touched by the tongue through the cheek. The Right board contains multiple sensors and it will mirror the location of the Left board. The Right board does not have a microphone. Both the Left and Right boards have a cable that threads through the headset to the radio board that is mounted at the base and rear of the head. The cable is a flat flexible ribbon cable, however we could look at alternatives. The cable will need to be easily threaded through the headset. [login to view URL] As an alternative, the cable should be contained within the boom section, and then it can be kept outside the back section, in order to make the design simpler. The booms on either side of the cheek should be adjustable so that they could be rotated up or down +-15 degrees. The booms should also have a length adjustment of up to 1" to accommodate the placement of the Left and Right board at the cheek. My preference is to avoid using screws. The current design has the Left and Right board too far back, and the microphone section of the boom is too long. These will need to be corrected. The Left and Right boards have a hole in the middle, and the enclosure should have a hole through it as well, in order to help with boom adjustment. The Battery compartment will not be included in the initial design, however it will most likely be placed near the rear/base of the head. The design should be comfortable for a person to wear for at least 8 consecutive hours.
