Purpose of the Quiz Pounce Web app is to handle a quiz feature called Pounce where a question that is posed to a particular team can be answered in writing by other teams and the teams that answer correctly gain points and the teams that answer incorrectly lose points. - Web-based Intranet application on a Linux host - Config file-based setup of 8 numbered teams - Quiz-master screen, team screens x 8, audience screen - Auto-refresh of audience screen - Quiz-master screen allows entry of question text and kick-off of question round - Quiz-master screen also allows an active round to be closed, locking all screens from further input - Team screens allow entry of answer text with a large Send button - Answers shown in (near) real-time on the audience screen and the Quiz-master screen with question on top and team number plus their answer - Display of question should be optional on the audience screen (set in config file) - All answers shown on the same screen under the question - Quiz-master screen can clear question and enter next question - Clearing the question should show a logo screen (from config file) to the audience - No persistence of data required across questions

Hi, I'm a full-stack developer with over 5 years of experience and though my main expertise in backend development in python, I can build web frontends as well. We have lots of choices for python backend for this app - like flask, django, bottle etc. but the most suited one would be tornado as it allows us to build WebSockets which will mean real-time two-way communication between the server and the web page, which is extremely important for a quiz show. The frontend can be written with vuejs and bootstrap.
