Abstract: I am looking to build a smart box to which you can plug in sensors and on/off home appliances which can be controlled from the Internet. I require you to design the PCB layout. Specs: Design to be easily manufacturable. Keep the price as low as possible (around 10 dollars). Design in a way to be easily certified. Size roughly 8cm x 8cm surface area. Rough outline: Input: Female sockets to which you can connect sensors such as: - Arducam - Temperature & Humidity Sensors - Water sensor - Motion sensor - UV index sensor / Light sensor - Ultrasonic sensor - Sound sensor - carbon monoxide flammable gas sensor This will need further discussion as I understand there are certain limitations (some sensors require more wires than others). Additionally the sensors will need to be extended with a male socket that can plug into the device (which is another project in itself). Output: Connect any on/off home appliance to these terminals e.g. bed light, fan, kettle … Terminals should be 2 pin sockets. Power supply: Power supplied from the wall socket which is fed to the relays for the output terminals. Battery Power supply: Power supplied from a battery which powers all the hardware. LED: Not sure of exact position of the LED yet. Either the LED will be positioned on the side (like on the image) or it will be position in the centre to to illuminate the logo on the plastic casing. Connect Button: Just a simple button. Wifi module / Microcontroller: I was thinking of using the ESP8266 version 12 since it is cheap and can be used as a micro controller (and from what I have researched should be easy to incorporate into the design). Conclusion: This document should give you an introduction into what I am seeking to build. Please supply me with a rough timeline to how long this might take you to design and the cost. I you are keen to work on this project then lets discuss it further, I got a thousand question and concerns that I would like to get feedback on!

Hi. About project: 1)Additional controller should be used as port extender and ADC (esp8266 have only one adc pin) 2) I think battery will be rechargable accu, and device will use it as backup power? Estimated price: 2$ pcb (up to 10x10cm) 1$ external mcu (for example - stm32) 3-5$ total bom for power supply (220AC to 12, 5, and 3.3 DC). 0.5-1$ charge controller (if I am right about battery) 1.5$ for each relay (more cheap relays are really dangerous) 3$ - connectors, fuses, smd So, I think... maybe 20$. And at least 13-15 in high production volumes. Do you need assembled prototype? Do you need code? (maybe som testing code - only to ensure that everything working)
