Job Description Top skills are: - either Illumio or NSX - ACL - experience providing network flows/analysis This is NOT a security role, but they would prefer to have someone with a security background since this work deals with segregation in firewall concepts/policy and it would help someone who understands those policies. The manager described it as doing some reverse engineering since they will be evaluating application network flows and building out segmentation policies - Strong understanding of network ACL creation required - Cisco ISE experience preferred - Reverse engineering application traffic patterns and translation into Illumio & VMware NSX firewall policy - Researching and documenting the common services that are leveraged within the TRP network environment Summary: The main function of a Network Engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades. Job Responsibilities: • Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands • Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades • Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems • Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas • Develop and implement solutions for network problems Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required • 5-7 years experience required • Network/systems administration/related work experience required • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus • Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage • Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
