Audiebant provides audio services to clients around the country, whereby they have unique logins to a website backend, to change and set various settings such as live message announcements, and to set pre-recorded messages.
This system is established and works well on the website; however, a need has now presented itself to have an app made.
Each site we produce an audio solution for has their own MySQL database, so the new app must provide the ability to connect to varying MySQL databases depending on which login is used.

Requirements of new app
Overview
• The new app is to be available on iOS App Store and Android Play Store
• We must have the ability to update the IP address for the MySQL connection, in case it is changed in the future. We will do this via our web backend interface – but the app needs to be aware of it.
• The existing website solution is built in PHP and utilises MySQL databases
• The login will be via a username and password initially, then after first successful login, will have the ability of fingerprint or facial recognition. Finger and Facial on supported devices, and only facial on devices which doesn’t support fingerprint. This is to aid faster login to add a new message.
• Upon successful login, a second screen will appear with two buttons (as screen 2 image below) – one for existing live messages, and the other for new live messages. Upon clicking the button, another screen will appear as per the screenshots below (screen 3 and screen 4). When either screen 3 or 4 are accessed, if a message is already playing, then an overlay message needs to advise of this and stop any other messaging being available. A cancel message button will need to be on this overlay, so it can either be closed, or the current playing message cancelled.
User on system
• User are added through our website backend, and are stored in either an accounts, or admin_accounts system as per the database screen shots at the end of this document.
• Users logging in through the app will be authenticated against the database, and the relevant user details returned to App.
Existing Live Messages
• These messages have already been created on the website backend and have an identifier in the database called “Existing_Messages” which would return either a 1 or 0 from the database. If a 1 it will populate the dropdown select style box.
• When selected, and a zone/zones chosen (zones are populated dynamically from the players table in the database, and is dependant on the site returned from the user login), they then choose the existing message and click play – this then updates the database – this is all the functionality which is required. When this screen is accessed again, it would display the overlay to advise a message is playing.
New Live Messages
This is a unique text to speech service. Users will select a zone/zones from the checkbox list (zones are populated dynamically from the players table in the database, and is dependent on the site returned from the user login), they then choose (in 5 second increments) how long they want the gap to be between the repeating message. A message is then typed out below and the play button selected – this then writes to the database.
When this screen is accessed again, it would display the overlay to advise a message is playing.
Please note – that ONLY 1 of the messaging system can be used at any one time. IF existing is playing, then a live message cannot be set and vice versa.
