Oracle Apps DBA

Position Overview:

As an Oracle Apps DBA (Database Administrator), you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle E-Business Suite applications and databases. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the Oracle E-Business Suite environment, supporting business-critical applications and ensuring seamless data flow.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Configuration:

Install, upgrade, and configure Oracle E-Business Suite applications and database components.

Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams to ensure proper setup and integration of the applications.

2. Database Administration:

Manage and maintain Oracle databases, applying patches and updates as necessary.

Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning techniques.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.

Implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and high availability.

3. Patch Management and Upgrades:

Plan and execute Oracle E-Business Suite and database upgrades as required.

Apply patches, fixes, and security updates to maintain system integrity and compliance. Also know how to upgrade new version.

4. Security and Access Control:

Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data within the Oracle applications and databases.

Manage user access and permissions, adhering to company policies and industry best practices.

5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

Monitor system performance and proactively address performance bottlenecks.

Optimize SQL queries and application configurations to enhance system efficiency.

6. Disaster Recovery Planning:

Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and plans to ensure business continuity.

Conduct periodic testing of disaster recovery procedures to validate their effectiveness.

7. Automation and Scripting:

Create and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

8. Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve application-related issues and implement system enhancements.

Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience as an Oracle Apps DBA, specifically with Oracle E-Business Suite.

Strong knowledge of Oracle Database administration, including backup and recovery procedures.

Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite architecture, components, and modules.

Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting Oracle databases and applications.

Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.

Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12.x or later versions.

Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but advantageous):

Oracle certifications related to database administration or Oracle E-Business Suite.

Knowledge of Oracle Cloud infrastructure and deployment models.

Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server administration.

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PL/SQL, Shell scripting, Python) for automation.

Understanding of ITIL processes and principles.

Experience:

Minimum 3-4 years’ experience as Oracle Apps DBA.

Salary Package:

5.0 LPA for suitable candidate.
