Font Creation - Ashram

This project is for making 2 complete sets of fonts. The fonts are hollow "outline" fonts.

CHARACTERS IN FONT

Each font set will include all 26 English capital letters and 26 lowercase letters. It will also include numbers 1-9 and the characters ! $ % ( ) - + , ' " ? = ; :

LETTER PROPORTIONS

Letters will be similar to the font attached below, however, the hollow space for one font will be 50% thicker and the hollow space for the second font will be 100% (twice) as thick as the sample font. For example, if the hollow area in the letter "l" is 8 mm wide in our sample font, then the hollow area in the first new font that you make needs to be 12 mm wide and then 16 mm wide in the second font you make. These fonts are being used for teaching children how to write so there must be enough space inside the letter for their pencil or crayon (with the second font).

LINE THICKNESS

Since these are hollow "outline" letters, we would like to make the outside line a little thicker than the original for the first font you make and a little thicker still for the second font you make.

This project will be given to our friend Ashram, who completed our first font, however, if you would like to submit your Portfolio for future font work please feel free to do so.
