I was working on an open-source project for quite some time now. However, as everyone needs to be making money out of something, I had to do some other side projects, so I kind of lost the motivation to do this open-source and continue where I stopped.

- Let me put some points related to project itself:
• it's an open-source project
• it's a "css framework" being built with "sass"
• it's a project alike: "Zurb Foundation, Bootstrap, Semantic UI, Bulma"
• it's a project which you can use for quick prototype app whip up, but also which you can use to build a complete design without much sweat
• it's a project that comes with few builds: minimal, custom, complete and theme build
• it's a modular project
• it's a project that differentiate from other existing "css frameworks" on many aspects

be unlike or dissimilar...

- Things I am sure about:
• be unique, artistic, draw attention & be recognizable on first sight once it has been seen by the one
• must be black/white

- Things I am unsure about:
• should it be capitalized, lowercase or uppercase (Differs / differs / DIFFERS)... at the time being, I'd prefer lowercase
• should it contain an icon with the project name next to it or should it be custom typography only...

*** THINGS TO AVOID
• mockups... upload plain logo that you made with simple solid color in background

*** WARNING ABOUT ATTACHMENT
In attachment you can find single image with a few examples that I designed. I didn't like anything that I came up with so far, hence this contest.
I uploaded it for reference only, do not follow it as requirement and do not copycat.

I have a question to all participants at this point:

Can I have a section on "differs" future site, where people would be able to see all decent entries of this contest. I do not ask for any vectors or anything, I would use uploaded sample from Freelancer that you submited.

I came across new fancy term called "monogram". Can someone come up with something fancy/cool for this project by creating an icon like that? ("d" or "dfr")

So far I've been getting so many entries where icon is some kind of "D" shape. Mostly highly weird...
In my samples you could see some "D" shapes, but do not focus on that as a must, already said to use them as reference only to see how I did it personally...

Try to figure some shape of anything you can think of, if you are going to design the icon.
What I can suggest to use is "D", "FF" or "DFR".

"$dfr" is a variable prefix to avoid conflicts of any other packages that may be used along... so maybe you can use that too... I don't know.

Just hit me. I know great design takes time, so I'll be patient. Heck I may even extend this contest if I don't find something interesting within this time frame.

  Can't do that... People would focus on one drawing only then and every submit would be highly similar. As a designer, I want to see other people thoughts and ideas and choose the best one that would beat the one in my mind.

- If you don't make an logo icon, don't use fonts. Custom typography logo only
- If you make an logo icon, feel free to pick any font that you have a license to use
- B/W only
- Be artistic, don't just be in the mood "I want to win $100, let's make something so easy and let's not even read the whole description..."
- My product will compete with top Css frameworks, so that means Your logo will be seen by millions of people, isn't that something way more special than just winning the contest for the cash?

  @mdehasan - Yes, I assume. I need modern, artistic logo that describe itself and engraves itself in the human mind once it's been seen. It can be highly artistic, the important thing is that it can be readable even if it takes a few seconds to click in mind of what it represents... Another highly important factor is that it should be black/white or both colors mixed.
