Experienced writer and Excel expert

I am a young Danish freelancer with a background in international development and the charity sector. I was raised bi-lingual and consequently am fluent in English, possessing a proficiency and vocabulary higher than most native speakers. I am also one of those odd people who absolutely loves Excel - I have been an avid user for nearly 5 years now, where I have created entire systems used by up to 60 people. Obviously, for that to be successful one also has to be be particularly good at designing spreadsheets that are easy to use, even by people who loathe/fear Excel. :) My main strength is really just in making things simple for other people - whether that is in terms of producing concise and well-structured reports and copy, or intuitive Excel solutions that are tailored to the context and IT-proficiency of the user it is designed for.

After Contact a Family, it was necessary for me to head back to Denmark for family health reasons. I have since decided to make an attempt at becoming a freelancer, where my specialties lie particularly in Excel and writing-related tasks.

Led in the development of an Excel-based data entry and capture system that was used by 16 different project teams (60 staff in total), and subsequently delivered training on how to use it while also providing technical support.

Mac 2013 - Jun 2014 (1 year, 3 months)

Designed a complex yet intuitive Excel-based data capture system from scratch that encompassed 14 different projects. The system was tailored to the context of each project yet uniform enough to extract key performance indicators from. I was responsible for collecting these on a monthly basis, compiling them into easy-to-read reports for senior management. The data entry spreadsheets were designed in such a way that even Excel-phobic staff were extremely enthusiastic about using it, and I received a Certificate of Commendation from the British Red Cross for my work, which was later adapted to other areas in the UK outside of London.
