The Rose brochure displays its cover and back panel. This is a four-panel brochure. I created this cover with Microsoft Publisher 2010. A rose by an other name . . . I also created the Equators brochure using Microsoft Publisher 2010. This is a scientific/astronomical, eight-panel brochure about the equators on our solar system's, 8 planets. (The photo depicts the outside four panels.) The Mimes brochure is a six-panel, entertainment brochure. The photo displays the three, inside panels. I created this brochure using Adobe Illustrator CS3.

After taking these photos, I enhanced them using Photoshop. Color Popping Squares contain three photos (the two on the left side and one on the upper right). The upper right photo is of an abstract painting--mine. The lower right square contains the digital drawings of a green and red square. Golf Ball Manhole Covers are two, manhole covers in front of an abstract, golf balls background. I modified the Wimona picture by using a high-contrast filter. The Covered Bridge Ripple photo began as a normal bridge. I enhanced it with a ripple filter. In the Orange Golf Balls Disappearing photo, I made the golf ball seem to disappear by varying opacity.

3 Brushes, Cellist and Cello, Winding, Lemon, Moon
Three Colorful Brushes are an example of product photography. Cellist and Cello is an example of photography at an event (entertainment). Winding is scenic photography. Lemon in a Wine Glass is special effects photography. Moon on Blue is astrophotography. Winding originated as a digital photograph. All of the others began as images on film. I used a flatbed scanner to scan the transparencies and/or prints into Photoshop CS3. Using Photoshop, I optimized the photos.

Using Photoshop CS3, I dramatically edited the following photos. The Banana Art photo displays high contrast that I achieved using a Photoshop filter. The Flying Carpet fictionally represents a dog driving a car (car pet) through the clouds (flying). The Bowling Cliche-verre comes under the alternate photography style. Cliche-verre prints incorporate text (originally scratches) with photos. Snowy B diamond is a photo of a baseball diamond while snow was falling. I emphasized the snowfall by adjusting the contrast and brightness. Golf Golden Mean has the dimensions of the golden mean. The large, left square contains a golf equipment photos to which I added a filters. The upper right square contains a crossword puzzle (with the answers filled in), and the lower right rectangle is a graphically designed title. I designed the crossword puzzle and title using Illustrator CS3.

Since I purchased my first camera, a Mamaya-Sekor 500DTL, in Hong Kong, I have accumulated more than 3,500, stock photos. These are photos of scenics, weddings, animals, flowers, models, graduations, sports, etc. Most of these photos are in film format as transparencies, color prints, black and white prints and black and white negatives. The digital images are as .jpg, .gif, .tiff, .psd, .png, etc. files.

Triptychs May Trip You

Since I am currently the Chicago Arts Exhibit Examiner for Examiner.com, I contributed this article. Triptychs are a form of displaying three photos/subjects within one frame. This article informs readers of the subjects that are suitable for triptychs. My college, art history classes gave me insight into triptychs. I also created a few, photographic triptychs. I began contributing as the Chicago Art Exhibits Examiner on October 21, 2011. I published this article on January 26, 2012.
