Portfolio of web development : Active Server Pages(asp) I have developed a website mostly based on Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. I used a wysiwyg program to do all the HTML. Under "Contact->Feedback" you will get the following URL [login to view URL] This form is used to capture all the details. On clicking "submit comments" you will go to the following page. [login to view URL]\_Received.asp All the feedback forms details are captured into a variable. Using a ASPMail component, the feedback forms details are emailed to my client. Futhermore, once the information is emailed to my client, he also receives a sms on his cellular handset, indicating that there is a response from a potential client. Under "Quotation->Give me a Quote" you will get the following URL [login to view URL] This is where I have done most of my asp code. In "Please Paste your essay in this text box" I used javascript to count the number of words upon clicking "Calculate Words"(This script I got from the internet). The client then has the option to choose a "24 Hour Quick Feedback" "48 Hour Full Edit" "24 Hour Full Edit" or a "Read Only Quick Service" On submission, the form details are passed on to the following page [login to view URL] On this page the word count is converted to a monetary value, which is also a function of the type of service that was chosen. Once, this is done the script has to identify if the client will be entitled to a discount (function dependent on {1} Type of service chosen and {2} Value of the monetary variable.) Depending on the value of the monetary variable, the client will either be given the option to go straight to the payment page or the discount page(not both). The discount page will work out the clients discount based on two variables. ie, monetary variable and service chosen. After the final price is calculated the client is then asked to proceed to the payment page. [login to view URL]\_details.asp All the details of this page is submitted to a secure database that is outside the virtual directory. I use a Microsoft Access database. SQL is used to quiry the database. DSNless connections are used to connect to the database. Reading and writing to a database is a standard procedure. I use server variables to record the following details to the database. Local Address, Remote Address, Remote Host, Server Time, Server Name. Note that the "Please Deduct" amount is also automatically forwarded to the page. On clicking "send details" all this data is send to a database. Note: if the client forgets to fill in any of the details, they will be prompted to return to the payment page. The client is then forwarded to the Thank You page. The client now has to proceed to upload their files to the server. [login to view URL] Here the client is prompted to select a local file which is then uploaded to a file directory. The component I use to achieve this is SAFileUp. This is as far as it goes for the client that serves the website. However I had to add some more functionality to this website as far as my client goes. This database has many fields of information. ie. ClientID,FirstName,Lastname,EmailAddress,CreditCardNumber,CardType,FirstNamecc,LastNamecc,City,State,Zip,Country,Charge,IPAddress,RemoteHost,HostAddress,ServerTime,ServerName,ExpirationDatemm,ExpirationDateyy My client does not want to view all the information in one go when he accesses the database. When he wants to access payment details, then he only wants the columns dealing with payments. When he wants to access contact details details, then he only wants the columns dealing with contacts and so on. Furthermore, my client also needs to be able to search the database. This I achieve by using a referral *.asp page. To access these pages my client accesses one login page, where he will be prompted for a username and password. (These are stored in a database) The right combination of username and password, will allow my client to access the relavent pages. ie. Username : contact Password : contact will direct my client to the part of the database that only deals with "contact details" etc. I cannot divulge any of these passwords not even for demonstration purposes, but if you really interested I could demonstrate it form my PC. SSL and ASPEncryte is used to safeguard the database. I hope this detailed description gives you an idea of what my skills are.
