Comparison of Handwriting Curve Reconstruction Using WOA and Least Square Approximation

This paper discusses the comparison of using two different approaches of curve fitting, namely the WOA and LSA for curve reconstruction. Both techniques are used in the curve fitting process to find the optimal value for the control points of the cubic Bézier curve. Sum Square Error (SSE) is used to determine the difference in distance of the original curve with the reconstructed curve. Then, the SSE of the two techniques is compared. Visualization and numerical comparison are then obtained.
Implementation of Whale Optimization Algorithm for Handwriting Representation

This work concerns the issue of curve reconstruction of the handwriting image based on a Whale Optimization
Algorithm (WOA). The objective of this paper is to find the optimal value for the control points of the cubic Bézier curve. There are four main steps required in reconstructing the bitmap image, namely boundary extraction, corner point detection, parameterization, and curve fitting. The best fitted parametric curve that represents all the given data points is then obtained.
