Asem helped me completely rebuild my personal website (RichieBartlett.com) from the bottom up. Together we collaborated closely to ensure we understood expectations and how they were achieved. Asem has grown significantly in his skills while working with me on this project. I look forward to working with him again on my next project. [31 May, 2021] Seems the contractor understands design (via Adobe XD) better than actual coding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript. I failed to realize this contractor is just starting out and this is his FIRST real project. As I promised the winner of the contest to build the site, I will see if he can finish it. However, I'm unlikely to award him the project to redesign my blog website. That said, Asem has a lot of potential. If I had more time and could train him more on how to build enterprise level designs, I could keep him around longer. Instead of the time frame of 3 weeks for both sites, I might be lucky to get my main site ready by the end of June. I know how to build a website. However, I'm not really interested in doing graphics design. This why I look to Freelancer to help. [07 June, 2021] Freelancer does NOT have 2 years professional experience with building responsive websites. Through conversation, discovered that he had only a couple of projects and still in school learning how to code. Originally, I had expected this project to be completed within two weeks. At the rate this Freelancer is going, I'll be lucky to have it done in two months... Furthermore, I'm forced to babysit him and request that he pay attention to the details I've communicated. The only way I'm going to get this done faster, is either hire another contractor or I start writing the code... [14 June, 2021] Now that I understand this Freelancer is a college student working with me part-time, I'm willing to give a few concessions. For as long as he continues to focus on quality and makes progress, I will be happy. [06 September, 2021] Through my project, I've watched Asem grow rapidly with the tech stack. Look forward to working more with him on the next project.
