My name is William O’Dea (or Bill for less formal discussions), and I’m interested in a position at your company. I have my Masters in Education from the University of Illinois - Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in History (and a minor in English) from the University of Florida.
But education matters little when you’re trying to determine if someone would be a good copywriter, right? You want someone who can tell a story, and education only matters as much as the grammar is solid. Apps like Grammarly solve most grammar issues nowadays, and I used to edit other people’s content for grammar and spelling on a daily basis with Constant Content. (Yet I still struggle with a few common words like “appointment.” What’s with that?)
More importantly, I work freelance as a copywriter and blogger for Audiential. I create 16 600-word articles per week, offsite, on a variety of topics. My previous position was at SmartBox Web Marketing, and I was their only full-time blogger for a couple of years, as I was the most dependable writer. I trained other employees, and while I averaged five 750-word blogs a day, I can do more if necessary. I work remotely and really enjoy it, as I’ve got a sweet home office setup.
