We run a snooker and billiards sports site [login to view URL] The main functions are content management, Communications to members Calendaring / events management of competitions, Membership system (people and individual affiliated clubs) - affiliated clubs have access to their portion of all of the functions in this list except events management E-commerce (an E-store, receiving & processing membership and competition entry payments). We link to an off the shelf Estore call Ecwid [login to view URL] The majority of complexity is in the membership and event management parts Membership There are many aspects to members including ranking points for competition performance, which team they are a member of for team events, and we produce several reports for public viewing showing scores at game, competition and team level. We also record details of different clubs where the events are run (including details like number of tables) so we can calculate how many matches can be played in a given time. Also contact details for these clubs to help people find their local club Event management There are only two types of game - Billiards and Snooker. But there are many formats of competition for these, also scoring and ranking points are often different but they all go toward a billiards and a snooker rankings table which needs to be available for people to view. They can also search for their position on the table via their name field and they can see how their rankings were calculated (these reduce over years as only 3 years of points are kept so the 3rd year will be weighted less than the current year). We also generate player draws for the competition (who is playing who) and then generate printed versions of this for use at the event and for displaying on the website/social media and the scores and progress are updated online.
