I've read your descriptive and watched the attached videos and understand that you want an AR app that allows customers to try on rings from your rings palette directly on their fingers and they can also use Augmented Reality free style 3d ring view that allows Rotation and scaling. Also as you mentioned you have the 3d models ready in cad files, so we'll need to port them in unity. If you have the textures for your rings we can convert the CAD models into Unity meshes with materials. All of this is entirely possible using Unity3D as the core framework and Vuforia for AR and OpenCV for perceptual (Finger detection) tasks. Let me give you a glance of what I'll do for you: 1) Setup and configure vuforia for you which will allow the AR related features to work.(Using vuforia will allow us to make our app work for every mobile device with just a camera). 2) Architecture the code framework for the Unity app. 3) Write code modules that allow detection of hands and fingers. 4) Allow the user to choose a ring from within a rings menu. 5) Place the ring on the user fingers. 6) Test and make sure that everything works and make any changes that you require.
