I need a python script that will run on a raspberry pi: Make sure a Java (.jar) program is always running Display Information on a small display. SSD1306 LCD I2C need to figure out a method for text/page exchange between java->python programs Indicate Internet Connection status Watch for button presses on GPIO pins Scroll/OK button: display next page Enable/Disable Support: start/shutdown script (confirm OK button press) Safe Shutdown: shutdown and display shutdown progress on display (confirm OK button press) Feedwatch dog (toggle GPIO20 output every < few seconds) Check for updates from a remote server. Query URL to request current version. If a new version is available download update and wait for request to update from java app. Then shutdown java app, replace the jar file and restart it. These are the basics, please message with questions for additional details.
