Hi. I find greatest development flexibility by providing method based security for the Rest APIs. If one is allowed to use Spring security, one can set up a separate Oauth2 server which would distribute access token on verification. One will have to add security annotations with appropriate role (if any) role, on the respective end points (or the rest controller class as a whole) to make it secure. The existing Java APIs will thus be largely untouched, except for addition of Java annotations on end point and the server will become completely secured. I believe, the same can be achieved by putting two weeks of effort at the max. Please feel free to discuss, in case this is close to your requirement. Thanks
