The most simple solution is to get the needing content by curl and pass it using pipe to gzip for decoding.

Hi - is this a one off gzip decryption or a constant thing on a hosted web server? Shouldn't be too tricky either way, but would want to know more about your setup if it's for configuration on a server. Cheers, Dave
