Cross platform desktop app for serial data configuration

We are looking to develop a simple cross platform desktop app - Mac / windows / Linux for configuration of a hardware device via serial port interface (UART over USB). Our hardware devices offer a serial menu interface that allows for various configuration settings to be setup via the serial terminal. Now we need to make it into a good UI that has the following ability : 1. Read and display serial port to allow user to choose the right one. 2. Authenticate the device via a handshake protocol 3. Send and receive various single byte commands and strings - we will offer the full protocol documentation. 4. Read data and plot it as simple graphs and values from a stream of data. 5. Ability to save the configuration as a file on the desktop via a simple text of XML file.
