Automatically identify roads from an aerial image

I am Prajwal Bhatt, a final year undergraduate student at IIT Roorkee pursuing Masters in Geological Technology and Minors in Machine Learning. Because of my coursework, I have done multiple projects that deal with processing of shapefiles and identification of various objects from the aerial images. I am very certain I'll be able to deliver quality product because of my understanding of the Geology and knowledge of Machine Learning Technology. More about me: I am a creative, flexible and focused individual who is passionate about Data Science, Natural Language Processing and the entire Analytics space. I have acquired knowledge of R programming, Python and C++. Further, I have exposure to Machine Learning algorithms like Neural Network, Regression, Decision Trees, and Clustering algorithms etc. I have experience of working as a data science intern in various recognized companies and start-ups before, Schlumberger, Razorpay, KUAI (Israel, Remote intern); to name a few.

I can automate this "road extraction" process using raster graphics in R. Can provide you the source code as well.

I am a Land Surveyor Engineer with 6 years of experience in GIS and Remote Sensing. I will use one of the industry software (QGIS, Recognition) to find the spectral signature (the values on the RGB and infrared channel for the image) of the streets in the specific image and then the software will locate all the streets on the image based on the spectral signature that I provide.
