We are looking for a regex pattern that we can use inside Notepad++ The idea is that we can find and mark rows of data that contain Japanese or Chinese characters. Specifically only those languages. We're looking for any sort of Regex solution we can use to quickly paste in and mark what we need. Thanks!

Hello there! As you have mentioned that you need a regex pattern to search Japanese & Chinese characters together. Currently I have an working prototype of that pattern. Though, I have tested the pattern for 7 different language and the pattern works for Japanese & Chinese characters nicely. Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji and other forms of characters are detecting well. I have FULL CONFIDENCE of lending you a hand in writing Regular Expressions for finding ONLY the Chinese and Japanese characters within Notepad++. Although new to Freelancer.com, I have EXTENSIVE experience in Regular Expressions and I am pretty much familiar with various RegEx “flavours” as implemented by various programming libraries, including Notepad++. (I am a big fan and regular user of N++ right from version 3.) As I see it, I think you want to identify the lines (records) containing Chinese and Japanese characters interspersed with other Latin characters. It can be readily done as N++ supports the mode where ^ and $ match at the start and end of line respectively. A question: Will the files be UTF-8 encoded or something other? Thanks

I do a lot of in automation and it involves a lot of REGEX especially for dynamic webpages. Handling Regex won't be an issue. I also use Notepad++ as my default text editor and am experienced in using that. That might be helpful as well.
