Want to have an APP that autoloads when booting the Raspberry pi 3 b+, and automatically monitors for CARD readers. At startup it requests what folder to use for Ext Drive and which dropbox/pcloud account to login into for proxy uploads. The moment a memory card reader is inserted to any USB port (SD, CompactFlash or XQD etc) it shows 4 options to click on: 1) Copy all videos to Ext Drive into folder named "Originals-date-time" 2)Reencode all videos to 720p with same framerate keeping same filenames to Desktop folder named by "proxy-date-time" 3) Both 1. and 2. 4) Both 1. 2. plus upload "proxy-date-time" folder to choice of dropbox or pcloud folder online. (not local folder but dropbox or pcloud api) So not using dropbox or pcloud apps because that would fill the local drive.. Must have progress bar for all steps. The idea is to automate offloading video footage onto external drive and uploading proxies to editors when getting home. Deliver img to burn into MicroSD to use on my Raspberry Pi 3 b+. Will use Win32DiskImager. Thanks George

i under stood most of your project, but i still do have a few doubts as to the display where the app will output the options ? will the pi have a display connected to it or do you need a headless version with maybe a web interface?, and you do realize that the pi isn't powerful copying data will take a long time and trans coding them will take even longer
