Standalone utility (either batch file or executable) that I would email to my company employees. They then would run this utility to collect some computer information and email the results to an email address. 1. Collect some computer info (see “Info to collect” below) 2. Hi there I have done similar projects before for IT helpdesk guys so I can write you this as a VB.NET executable which runs natively on Windows. We can customise the UI to show the user what the app is collecting and what's going out, or it can just be a 'Please Wait' sort of thing. Regarding email we don't need to open the user's Outlook to send the email, with VB we can do this through SMTP so they don't have to do anything for you to receive the email.
