A secure customer online area need to be developed. (this is NOT part of THIS project) Before doing so, the whole software architecture & tool have to be selected. So, THIS PROJECT is to write a short concept (MS word, pdf) what software / tool / basement are the best for this. Each software/tool should be described with PRO & CONS for this use. The database is fixed use of MySQL. All other is a ?. The old version was made with TYPO3, but use of TYPO3 have to be overlooked as well. Joomla is not much liked and Wordpress may be also not fine as it might be hacked easily, but may be mentioned as a comparison....Pure HTML/PHP/C/? .....don't know - sort it out, find the best - that's the goal of this concept! Description of the goal: A online members(customer) area provide (after login) info (simply text as well as graphical data reports from database) and download files and a custom made shop with credit card & Paypal payment - all this have to be stable and safe against hacking. There should be no way to access the source code for front-end-users. Compatible to all main browsers. Simple web graphic will do it. Easy for maintenance and flexible for expansions, updates. Needless to say, the freelancer who apply for this need a excellent overview of the most online software tools.

You need a https configured dedicated server with latest patches running Centos or RedHat Linux. This is because security will start with server and connection. if a packet sniffer can be deployed against your system it is insecure. Don't go for CMS such as Joomla or wordpress since current stability doesn't mean bugs wont be discovered in the future. The best way to handle payments is usually a third party gateway with lots resources to invest in security. If you don't store credit card details you become less of target.
