This project is to build a Google Extension that is able to search through Facebook/Instagram/Twitter accounts to find trademark breaches. Here is how it works: 1. User gives logo + trademark name + code 2. Google chrome extension scrapes through profiles to find same logo or same name 3. Google chrome extension creates a csv file with links of all the profiles 4. User downloads the file and is happy! You can check some of the web scrapers I built : [login to view URL] The project looks very interesting to me and I am very keen to do it. I have experience of working in multiple technologies including Python & java Script as well experience in image processing. I am confident I will be able to complete this and within specified. I have one doubt thought about the extent of profiles to scrape. For sure we can't scrape all the profiles on Facebook, so it looks like the profiles to be scraped would be based on search term provided. I will need clarity here. Hi there I understand the core of the project but here are some points that I need to make. First, Do you provide a list of users on those platforms that this extension will be scrapping on? There needs to be a method of providing that starting point before going to the extension point. Second, in order to compare images, you need to use some image recognition API (like that Google provides) and let it do it for you. The result will be returned to the user. Third, I can implement the text matching with efficient algorithms, that is not the problem, but the problems are those 2 points above. Anyways, feel free to hit me up so we can talk more about this.
