We require that a developer creates a solution that allows website visitors to check if our services are available in their postcode.
The logic behind the solution would be:
1. User enters their postcode into search bar, then presses "search".
2. User is taken to a new page based on whether their postcode is in our database
a. If postcode not in our database: direct to page a.
b. if postcode is in our database: direct to page b.
i. Have overlay for user to select their home address from a list / enter it themselves (if not available in list). Once selected, overlay will close and show page b.
ii. Page b will show list of services available for this postcode.
iii. Save address details to datalayer so that when users apply for our services, the details are retained and accessible.
c. If postcode not legitimate: - stay on page and flag user with error that this postcode is incorrect. (Warning symbol upon confirmation of incorrect postcode with tooltip explaining issue)
We already have a SQL database of postcodes where we provide services and are currently awaiting confirmation from the Royal Mail's PostCode Address File ([login to view URL]) which is how we would list addresses from step 2.b.i . PAF offers sample data which you may use temporarily until we have full access to the PAF Database.
We would also require that every postcode searched for is dynamically populated into Google Analytics.
