Freelance News Photographer--Chicago area only

Looking for a photographer with some news experience. MUST be in the Chicago metropolitan area. We will accept students, but you must have your own equipment and a tape of your work.
The idea candidate will:
(1) have experience with "spot news" photography
(2) have a resume tape with samples of work you have done
(3) have his or her own equipment. (Ideally, we would like to have someone with a digital camera, or the ability to convert taped pieces to a digital format for computer editing.)
(4) be available during regular business hours (8 am - 5 pm)
This project is for eight days of shooting. If you have editing experience, it would also involve at least 16 days of editing. However, we are willing to hire two separate positions (photog and editor) if we need to. The budget range quote is ONLY for the photog piece.
