This is a low-budget app, required in 30 days. The business is real estate brokerage. 1. Database is key; mass-user 2. Two portals: rentals and buy and sell 3. Business model is to charge fees not commissions based on value 4. Fees for landlords, tenants, sellers and buyers to vary upwards and downwards, based on predetermined property values 6. We will offer a free trial listing to all property landlords in Uganda to list within say the first 30 days, free of charge. After that they will be charged a modest monthly fee. 7. Marketing will be via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and WhatsApp. Customers will be English-speaking smartphone users, mostly aged 20-50, with a secondary school or post-secondary school education, male and female 8. We will offer a free trial for say 3 days to all consumers using the app, to build up traffic and awareness buzz, on condition that they post about us on social media 9. After the free trial period, users too will pay a modest fee (billed in Uganda Shillings). 10. On paying the fee, users will be able to use the platform to search for properties to rent or buy, for 30 days, before they need to pay again 11. Payment will be via mobile money(African mobile phone pay option) though we will provide for VISA. In this market, 99% of payments will be via mobile money 12. Developer would need to develop an Applications Program Interface (API) to integrate our company’s mobile money accounts at the two or three leading telecom companies in Uganda with the telco’s mobile money system via the Open Source API. For the leading telecom company MTN, this Open Source API that we can plug into already exists. The telecom company will charge a pass-through commission of about 5% of our revenue and probably also deduct Value Added Tax payable to government of Uganda 13. We will provide brand colors, name and identity but the developer must provide the front end design in addition to the back end 14. Delivery Timetable: preferably 30 days 15. Engagement: will provide or enter a legally binding contract 16. Budget for app development: US$1,000
