We could use the Google places-API to find the nearest transit-stops, it works fine for me. Just do a request with the parameters: -location (latlng-object of the given location) -radius(radius to search for in meters) -types(array of valid types, e.g. ['bus_station','subway_station']) Google/Uber has excelled in this area, where it can now suggest different route/ timetable/stations to users, and you only have to pick the best one for you. Also, it supports streaming back the vehicle location online. We're ready. Let's start. Only the problem is this requires an extra fast server point to fetch passengers details in real-time To find the best route for multiple stops, there is an API - RouteXL, a Google Maps mashup that provides the optimum route for you along multiple destinations. It can do this by calculating each waypoint and sort them to give you the fastest route. And now RouteXL provides this feature that you wish Google Maps integrates into their iOS/Android app. It will be a beneficial purpose for Driver they can see the shortest route for multiple locations on Google Map as well the cost will be reduced To make use of Route XL all you need to do is enter each address, the Google Map will automatically show the shortest route path after generated Limitation: You can import up to 20 addresses to maximize the app
