I need a simple Android application that will contact a very basic RESTful web service. The device should poll the service at regular intervals and then, based on the response, download and display a JPEG image or the specified text and colored background.

Other requirements:

Show a notification when a new alert is returned from the REST api

I need a simple setting for the APP so I can put in the Server URL (for example http://123.456.789/api)

Prevent the device from sleeping while the app is running.

APK file and source code are needed -- application will not be posted to Google Play
